Betsy has been married to Darren for 19 years and they have 2 daughters, a cat, and 2 herding dogs. Brandon received his degree in Kinesiology from Wheaton College. After college he financed, opened and operated his own fitness facility in St. Louis. Brandon utilizes his experience gained during that time as he assists doctors in building their own, unique financial plans. “I know the trials and tribulations that come with building a business or a practice. I know that sometimes things may get overlooked or neglected. I don’t want that to happen with my clients. In managing many of my clients’ finances, I am helping to allow them the freedom to put their time and energy where they choose.”

Brandon and his wife Rebecca live in Lake St. Louis, Missouri with their two boys, Andrew and Asher and their daughter Mirabella. They enjoy hanging out on the lake in the summer, snowboarding in the winter and riding dirt bikes. Brandon and Rebecca serve as small group leaders at Morningstar Church in Dardenne Prairie, Missouri.

With Brandon’s unique blend of knowledge in financial planning, law, consulting, and investment banking, he has valuable experience in a wide array of issues that investors are likely to encounter.

He holds the following licenses and designations: J.D., Series 7, Series 66, Life and Health Insurance licenses, and Medicare Supplement/Long-Term Care Insurance license. Brandon received his bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce, ranked as the #2 undergraduate business program in the nation according to Bloomberg Businessweek 2014 rankings.

Brandon also completed a law degree at Regent University School of Law, studying estate planning, tax, contracts, business entities, and commercial transactions. Prior to law school, Brandon has worked in investment banking, management consulting, and wealth management. During his legal studies, Brandon gained experience working for law firms that concentrate on estate planning, contracts, and transactions, also working for a state supreme court judge.

While outside of the office, Brandon enjoys playing sports, working out, traveling, and serving in his church. Brandon and his wife, Sarah, are passionate about devoting significant effort to helping the poor and oppressed in the U.S. and abroad.

Blake was inspired to join Larson Financial for many reasons, specifically our team atmosphere, the driving passion, and strong work ethic of all the employees. He has a passion for details and is a quick learner. Also quick witted, Blake loves to share in a good laugh with everyone.

He was born and raised in St. Charles, Missouri and his family on both sides have resided there since the mid-1800s.

Blake has many interests and enjoys golf, playing the piano, spending time with his family, watching any and every sport on TV, Sudoku puzzles and listening to music.

Blake currently holds his Series 65 Uniform Investment Advisor license, maintains Life and Health Insurance Licenses in the State of Missouri and is a Notary Public. He has his BA in Finance from Lindenwood University.

His proudest accomplishments include his high school golf team’s 2013 Missouri State Golf Championship in his junior year and graduating college magna cum laude.

Business Term

Estimates the number of years you could live on your current business equity (ignoring inflation, taxes and fees). It also indicates how much of your wealth is concentrated in the business.

Equity rate (Er) is calculated by dividing your equity investment holdings by the total amount of investable assets you own.

How much wealth do you need to make work optional?

Tt (Total Term) indicates how long you could live on your current wealth if it did not grow.

Tt provides a conservative estimate of how many years you could survive if you stopped working today. It’s calculated by dividing net worth by annual living expenses. It is also a summation of the four blocks to its left which represent each asset type: Lt (Liquid Term), Qt (Qualified Term), and Rt (Real Estate Term). There’s also a bonus Element for business owners: Bt (Business Term).

Do you have the right mix of assets?

The three Elements to the left of Tt (Total Term) provide a clear view of your asset distribution.

These Elements represent three of the four asset types in a person’s portfolio (the fourth is a business and Business Term is a bonus Element for business owners), and when added together, they create your Tt. They also help you and your advisor understand if there’s an opportunity for better diversification.

Are you using your income wisely?

The middle row of the Elements table address your cash flow.

These Elements calculate the percentage of your total income that goes toward savings (Savings Rate), spending (Burn Rate), debt (Debt Rate), and taxes (Tax Rate). These are the only four places your income can go and it’s important to keep them optimized to accelerate growth.

Are you taking the right amount of risk?

These Elements indicate the risk levels within your investment portfolio, estate planning, and insurance profile respectively.

The top row of the Elements table contains Er (Equity Rate) and Ir (Insurance Rate). The amount of risk you should take in each area will depend on several factors including your tolerance for risk, career phase, liquidity, and financial goals.
